For UK asset finance lenders

Evidence infrastructure for commercial solar lending.

Cliding gives your team a single, structured, traceable place to assemble the evidence behind a commercial rooftop solar application — in the £150k to £1m band. The assessment, and the outcome, remain entirely yours.

Built on UK-hosted infrastructure  ·  Grounded in Companies House, the EPC register and PVGIS

The problem

The evidence is the work.

Assessing a commercial rooftop solar application means pulling documents from borrowers, installers, surveyors and solicitors — then chasing gaps, reconciling versions and rebuilding the picture by hand, deal after deal. Below the point where full technical due diligence is economic, and above the point where instant approval is prudent, underwriting teams carry that burden themselves.

Structured evidence, in one place

Every document, from every party, held in a single controlled case — organised consistently rather than scattered across inboxes and folders.

Scoped requests to the right parties

Request exactly what you need from the borrower, installer, surveyor or solicitor. Each party sees only their own scope, and uploads directly into your case.

A traceable record you own

Every item in the file is logged and traceable to its source, producing an auditable record built to your standards — not ours.

Our boundary

The lender owns the outcome.

Cliding is evidence infrastructure — not a credit bureau, and not a decision engine. It does not score, rate, or recommend.

We organise and trace the evidence. Your team weighs it, applies your criteria, and makes the decision. The report is your instrument, produced to your standards.

Foundations

Grounded in trusted data. Hosted in the UK.

The evidence in every file starts from a common, citable foundation — established public sources, on infrastructure designed for regulated financial institutions from the outset.

Companies House

The UK's official register of company information.

Energy Performance of Buildings Register

The official UK record of building energy performance.

PVGIS

The European Commission's photovoltaic geographical information system.

UK data residency

Hosted on AWS London (eu-west-2). Your data stays in the UK.

Design Partner Programme

Built with lenders, not just for them.

We are working with a small number of UK asset finance lenders as design partners, shaping the platform around real underwriting workflows before general availability. If your team assesses commercial solar finance and would help us build it right, we would like to talk.

A demo takes thirty minutes, works from a real (or representative) application pack, and there is no commitment on either side.

Platform

A controlled, traceable evidence layer for solar asset finance.

From first request to final file, Cliding keeps every piece of evidence in one place, in order, and on the record — so the file behind every decision is complete, consistent and auditable.

How it works

The evidence lifecycle

1

Open a case

Your team opens the assessment case. It is yours from the first moment — every action from here is logged against it.

2

Evidence comes in

Upload a pack you already hold, or issue scoped requests directly to the borrower, installer, surveyor or solicitor. Each party sees only their own scope.

3

The file takes shape

Evidence is organised into a single structured record, with every item traceable to its source and its point of entry.

4

You assess. You decide.

Your team works from a complete, consistent, auditable file — and reaches its own conclusion, on its own criteria.

The output

A report that is yours — not a third-party opinion.

What your team gets is a structured, consistent, auditable evidence file: the same shape every time, with the provenance of every item on the record. Two lenders can look at the same project and legitimately reach different conclusions — because the assessment belongs to the lender, not to us.

Precision about our claims

What we do — and what we don't.

Trust in this market is earned by understatement. We are precise about what we do not claim.

Cliding does

  • Assemble evidence from every party into one controlled case
  • Organise it consistently, to your standards
  • Keep every item traceable to its source
  • Produce a complete, auditable file for your team

Cliding does not

  • Make or recommend credit decisions
  • Score or rate applications
  • Independently verify the physical condition of a roof
  • Independently verify the future generation of a system

Security and data handling, from the outset

UK data residency, encryption in transit and at rest, and access on a least-privilege basis. Read our security & data page →

Thirty minutes. One of your deals.

The quickest way to judge Cliding is to see it against an application your team already knows.

About

Built by someone who has done the assessments.

Founder photograph

Rajat Maloo

Founder, Cliding

Cliding was founded by Rajat Maloo, previously a Data Science Engineer at PowerMarket, a UK climate-tech company specialising in commercial rooftop solar assessment. There he worked on solar feasibility analysis, PV yield modelling and consumption data analysis for commercial buildings across the UK.

He built Cliding after seeing, first-hand, how much of a lender's solar underwriting effort goes into chasing, reconciling and trusting evidence — and how little tooling exists to make that process controlled and traceable.

The gap in commercial solar finance isn't intelligence or appetite. It's infrastructure: a controlled way to assemble and trust the evidence a decision rests on. That is what we are building.

Security & data

Designed for regulated institutions from the outset.

Lending files contain sensitive commercial information. Here is how we handle it — stated plainly, without badges we haven't earned.

UK data residency

All customer data is hosted on AWS London (eu-west-2). It does not leave the UK.

Encryption

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest, as standard.

Least-privilege access

Access to systems and data is granted on a least-privilege basis and logged.

Scoped party access

Borrowers, installers, surveyors and solicitors see only their own scope of a case — never the whole file.

UK GDPR

Personal data is handled in line with UK data protection law. Our privacy notice sets out the detail.

Public data sources

Reference data is drawn from established sources: Companies House, the Energy Performance of Buildings Register, and PVGIS.

We answer security questionnaires directly and in full. If your procurement or risk team has questions this page doesn't cover, ask us — you will get a straight answer from the person who built the system.
